Formulation Scientist/EngineerFormulation research and development BIND Biosciences, co-founded by Dr. Robert Langer of MIT and Dr. Omid Farokhzad of Harvard Medical School, is a biopharmaceutical company leveraging its proprietary Medicinal Nanoengineering™ platform to design, engineer and manufacture highly precise best-in-class targeted therapeutics for treating serious diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases. We are looking for highly motivated people who thrive on being challenged and working in a highly collaborative environment to join the team and play a key role in conducting rigorous, cutting edge science. We seek a motivated and team-oriented individual who will be a key contributor to the overall success of BIND’s Platform Development program. This Scientist/Engineer will perform formulation research and development on novel drugs, polymers and targeting moieties and will interact with analytical and synthetic chemists, process development engineers and biologists to create and characterize the formulations. • Fabricate nanoparticles using established processes including high throughput process. • Develop methods to rapidly characterize nanoparticles including assisting with biological assay development. • Use combinatorial approaches to create screening library of nanoparticle formulations. • Organize, evaluate, and present data in an effective and scientific manner to all levels.Requires MS/PhD in chemical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field with relevant research and industrial experience. Pharmaceutical formulation experience is essential as well as the following: • Polymer chemistry, processing, or characterization • Drug delivery including drug elution and stability studies • Pharmaceutical formulation especially using biodegradable polymers as coatings or particles • Experience with nucleic acid formulation and characterization would be preferred • Pharmaceutical lyophilization experience would be preferred • High energy, open minded, strong communicators who are looking for a collaborative, innovative and fun environment BIND has a vibrant and engaging culture of innovation and team work and we are continuing to build a top-tier team of scientists and engineers to rapidly advance our R&D programs in a fast-paced, exciting and fun work environment.
