Scientist - Cell/Molecular Biology

BIND Biosciences was founded on the pioneering research in targeted nanoparticle drug delivery conducted by Professors Robert Langer and Omid Farokhzad at MIT and Harvard, respectively.  BIND has assembled an experienced leadership team with extensive drug delivery and biotech drug development experience and is now hiring a top-tier team of scientists to rapidly advance our multi-disciplinary R&D programs in a fast-paced, exciting and fun work environment.  We are looking for highly motivated individuals that thrive on being challenged and working in a highly collaborative environment to conduct rigorous, cutting edge science in an effort to deliver results that will eventually lead to saving and improving the lives of patients.

We are currently seeking a Scientist in Cell/Molecular Biology.

Background
Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field with 3-6 years of industry experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

Specific experience/expertise
• Development of mammalian cell culture capabilities 
• In vitro cell-based assay development, including cell binding and pharmacological assays, particularly in oncology and cardiovascular therapeutic areas
• Experience with nucleic acid therapeutics including RNAi

Responsibilities
• Contribute both technical expertise and intellectual creativity towards the development of targeted nanoparticle-based therapeutic agents. 
• As our R&D programs integrate polymer chemistry, particle delivery technology and a number of drug modalities across therapeutic areas, the candidate must work, teach and learn across multiple technical disciplines. 
• They will be a key leader in the development of biology programs, including the design and hands-on execution of key experiments for screening and selection of nanoparticle therapeutic candidates, specifically:
o Helping lead all in vitro biology work and development of the biology group
o Oral presentation of results in team discussions and written technical reports
o In vitro cell assay development for binding, uptake, internalization, viability, and toxicity studies
o Data analysis and interpretation
