BIND Biosciences, Inc. is developing a new class of exquisitely targeted therapeutics called AccurinsTM that are precisely engineered to maximize drug concentrations in diseased tissues and cells. Accurins are highly selective medicines that accumulate at the site of disease, resulting in enhanced efficacy and reduced side effects.

By precisely targeting the site of disease, Accurins have demonstrated the ability to meaningfully improve the performance and probability of success of new drug candidates. BIND's approach with Accurins can be applied to today's most promising drug candidates, including molecularly targeted medicines, to enable them to achieve their full potential with an optimal therapeutic index and other best-in-class characteristics. BIND's platform is compatible with a broad range of drug classes, including small molecules, nucleic acids, peptides, and proteins.

Our lead Accurin product candidate, BIND-014, has the potential to become the best in class taxane. BIND-014 is in a Phase 1 clinical study for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumor cancers. BIND-014 contains docetaxel, the active ingredient in Taxotere®, targeted to prostate-specific membrane antigen, a surface protein abundantly expressed on certain cancer cells and on new blood vessels that feed virtually all solid tumors.

BIND is developing a pipeline of Accurins. We are pursuing proprietary Accurin programs for a range of applications to target disease, with an initial focus on oncology, inflammatory disease, and cardiovascular disease.

Our Medicinal Nanoengineering platform optimizes the efficacy and therapeutic index of pharmaceutical products and pipeline drugs. We work collaboratively with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop Accurins that have unsurpassed clinical performance through targeting and other highly differentiated properties, as well as a sustainable intellectual property position and clear market advantage.

Our world-class team of management, scientists and investors is positioning BIND as a leader in the development of targeted therapeutics. We have assembled a team of experienced drug development experts, many of whom led the development and commercialization of innovative targeted therapeutics and particle-based drugs now in widespread clinical use, including Doxil® and Risperdal Consta®. BIND's technology is based on scientific breakthroughs of Robert Langer, the David H. Koch Institute Professor at MIT; and Omid Farokhzad, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. BIND is backed by top-tier investors that include Polaris Venture Partners, Flagship Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, NanoDimension, EndeavourVision, and DHK Investment.
