Scott Minick – President and Chief Executive Officer

 Scott Minick is the President and CEO of BIND Biosciences, Inc.  Prior to this, Mr. Minick was a Managing Director of Arch Venture Partners and was instrumental in the startup, development and financing of numerous portfolio companies including BIND, XenoPort,  MedVantx, Achaogen, Celula, and Sorbent Therapeutics. From 1995 until 1998, Mr. Minick was director, President and COO of SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, a public biopharmaceutical company that was acquired by ALZA. He serves as a board director for BIND, Chiasma and Sorbent Therapeutics. Mr Minick was formerly an executive at Baxter International, Inc., and Eli Lilly & Company and was Chairman of the Board of California Pacific Medical Center through 2009.  He received his postgraduate training in neurobiology at the Salk Institute, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a B.A. with Honors from the University of California at San Diego.

Jim Wright, Ph.D. – Chief Scientific Officer

 Prior to joining BIND Biosciences, Dr. Wright was Vice President of Development at Infinity Pharmaceuticals. Before joining Infinity, he was Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President of Development at Alkermes and Distinguished Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. During his long career, Dr. Wright has established a track record of success in developing and commercializing multiple drug modalities including products based on traditional dosage forms such as Viramune®, for treatment of HIV-1 infection, and on breakthrough drug delivery platforms, such as Risperdal Consta®, a long-acting injectable form of the antipsychotic risperidone. Additionally, Dr. Wright teaches at the University of Wisconsin as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Wright received his Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin and B.A. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Stephen Zale, Ph.D. – Vice President, Development

 Dr. Zale is a product development scientist with expertise in small molecule and macromolecule formulations, drug delivery and biomaterials, and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Before joining BIND Biosciences, Dr. Zale was Vice President of Injectable Products R&D at Alkermes, where he led the group responsible for formulating Alkermes’ biodegradable polymer-based microsphere products, including Nutropin Depot, Risperdal CONSTA and Vivitrol. Prior to joining Alkermes, Dr. Zale led the Bioseparations R&D group at Sepracor. Dr. Zale received a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. in Chemistry, also from MIT.

Jeff Hrkach, Ph.D. – Vice President, Pharmaceutical Sciences

 Prior to joining BIND Biosciences, Dr. Hrkach was Senior Director of Drug Delivery and Strategic Product Development at Momenta Pharmaceuticals, serving as program leader for the Drug Delivery and generic COPAXONE programs and as Alliance Manager for the Sandoz/Novartis collaboration. Prior to Momenta, Dr. Hrkach was Director of Pulmonary Formulations at Alkermes, focusing on the AIR large porous particle technology development programs. Dr. Hrkach joined AIR at its inception in 1998 following his postdoctoral research with Professor Robert Langer at MIT. Dr. Hrkach has over 25 scientific publications and 25 patents/applications in drug delivery and polymer chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry and M.S. in Polymer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and his B.S. in Chemistry from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.

Andrea Franz – Chief Financial Officer

 Andrea has 20 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on strategic and financial planning, equity and debt financing, and mergers and acquisitions. Andrea has spent the last 10 years as the President of Franz Associates, a Boston area consulting firm focused on interim financial management for corporations during some significant change. Prior to that, Andrea was Vice President/CFO of ESS, Inc., and earlier, held roles at Groundwater Technologies, Inc., Tyco Laboratories, and Coopers & Lybrand. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.
