Product PipelineBIND-014 Our first product candidate to enter the clinic is BIND-014, an Accurin that contains the well-established chemotherapeutic agent, docetaxel. BIND-014 targets prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a cell-surface protein that is abundantly expressed on certain cancer cells and on new blood vessels that feed a wide array of solid tumors. In preclinical models of solid tumor cancers, including breast, lung and prostate, BIND-014 increased the concentration of docetaxel at the tumor site by up to an order of magnitude, with minimal distribution to other tissues. The increased concentration of BIND-014 docetaxel at the site of disease translated to dramatic improvements in efficacy and tolerability. BIND-014 is in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid-tumor cancers. Other Proprietary Product Candidates The BIND portfolio includes additional proprietary product candidates in preclinical development for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory disease. We have developed Accurins with unique pharmacologic properties for a range of therapeutic applications. Collaboration Programs Leading pharmaceutical companies are developing a new generation of molecularly targeted therapeutics based on emerging insights into cancer biology. However, like conventional chemotherapeutics, many of the most elegantly designed targeted molecules are prevented from achieving their full therapeutic potential due to on-target and off-target toxicities in healthy organs. BIND's Medicinal Nanoengineering platform overcomes this limitation by adding unprecedented ability to enhance the trafficking of drugs to tumors, while minimizing exposure of healthy tissues. We have ongoing collaborations with leaders in this field to combine our technologies and dramatically expand the therapeutic index of their most important drugs.
